#110 Battle XXVI - No End of Death

It's been a while, but Owen and I finally both managed to be available to game! 1250 points to try out the 'new' Soulblight battle tome. I went for a deadwalker-heavy Vyrkos list. Unfortunately for me, we rolled the kill-as-many-units-as-you can victory condition which is always a bit of a tall order against Stormcast...

Lord-Arcanum Neras Aetherflare rolled her eyes and sighed. “Here we go again,” she muttered to Blademane, her dracoline mount. The grave soil was heaving and cracking in a wide circle all around her, rotten arms and legs erupting from the soil as twitching cadavers hauled themselves from the ground to surround her.

The deadwalkers were no significant threat to her martial prowess. That much was abundantly clear from the battle that had just finished.

Had it actually finished? She wasn’t entirely sure: Every time the Gravewalkers cut down the hoards of zombies and direwolves they seemed to come back again. It was all rather tiresome, and not even particularly useful from a training perspective.

But they did appear to have driven off the Gravelords themselves - specifically Countess Heisenberg and her favourite General Boritz. They had also targeted and removed the corpse carts and other leaders of the undead hoard.

“Are we done her my Lord-Arcanum?” Lorrus Steelsworn called across the graveyard as his dracoline nonchalantly bit the head off yet another zombie.

“Yes, I think we are.” she replied. Her Thundercat trampled yet another dire wolf into the putrid mud as she turned and led her force away from the still-writhing corpse field.
