#1 The Baby-Eating Bishop of Barfunweltz

On the outskirts of Glymmsforge, among the vast tracts of land given over to graveyards, there can be found the huge Cemetery of Barfunweltz. It is, on first impressions, unremarkable. Just one more burial ground in the Realm of Shyish. Perhaps its only distinguishing feature is a preponderance of vines bearing pure red roses which, when drenched with dew, silently ooze fresh arterial blood.

But this place has gained some notoriety. Glymmsmen scare their errant children into submission with stories of the 'Baby-Eating Bishop of Barfunweltz'. Portrayed as a gruesome and ghoulish figure who has grown fat feasting on the corpses of infants, he is said to dress in what were once the finest of clerical robes, but are now drenched in blood and stained with offal.

There is more to these stories than many assume, and he is not alone. He leads a congregation of deranged cannibals: disgusting creatures, perhaps once mortal men but now barely recognisable as such. Many, like their Bishop, still wear the tattered and stained remnants of ecclesiastical robes. 

Perhaps, somewhere in their deluded imaginings, the Bishop and his flock believe themselves to be faithful worshippers of some mighty sect. Indeed, they sometimes bear a primitive symbol, daubed in blood, which resembles that of a once great cult called The Society of the Sanguine Rose.
