#41 Our Lady of the Rose
The vampire Lady Beauvoir's modus operandi is one of subterfuge and subtlety, perfectly suited to her previous missions involving the infiltration of Freeguild nobility in order to spy for Neferata. Even in her more recent machiavellian schemes to manipulate the followers of the Sanguine Rose, she has ever sought control from the shadows, lurking behind the scenes like a puppet-mistress. In this way, she endeavours to evade the notice of both mortal enemies (such as the Gravewalkers) and undead rivals.
One such rival whose gaze Beauvoir has been keen to avoid is Lady Olynder, Mortarch of Grief. The Procession of the Foolish Martyrs is valuable to Beauvoir, being a large and formidable Nighthaunt force, but they are much more amenable to Beauvoir's ends when Olynder's concern is focused elsewhere. When the vampire wants to evade the Mortarch's gaze, she avoids summoning the malignant spirits and utilises the deadwalkers of the Reformed Society. Nagash knows well that Neferata's servants are not to be trusted so the suspicions of his loyal Mortarch Olynder are easily raised.
And so she has recently sojourned with the Procession of the Foolish Martyrs. What the Mortarch of Grief makes of the situation, the extent to which she intends to get involved, and what she might report back to the Great Necromancer are not for us to know.
