#114 Battle(s) XXVII - A Plague of Rats

Despite her deep-seated distaste for deadwalkers, Lady Beauvoir could not help but smile as the zombie ogors waded through the gory lake of rodent carcasses: what the massive zombies lacked in elegance they more that made up for in effectiveness. And effective pest control was just what she needed. Recently, her beloved Barfunweltz cemetery had become infested with the chaos ratmen and all the factions of the Rose had come together with the Heisenbergs to exterminate the skaven vermin. Perhaps they had finally succeeded? Lady Beauvoir turned to her scrying pool to see what the future might bring...

Dhom & Ghove (Kosargi Nightguard)

Priti & Jacob (Kosargi Nightguard)

No sooner had the ripples settled in the great bowl of blood than a familiar visage appeared - that of Elohiim, the Vengorian Lord whom Lady Beauvoir had inadvertently brought back to Barfunweltz. What was he up to?

Elohiim the Ineffable, Servant of the Great Necromancer, Lord of the Night, Warden of Gulaab, Primogenitor of the Cinquefoil, Saviour of Angels, Lord of Hosts, Terror of Barfunweltz

The Vengorian was leaving Barfunweltz, accompanied by the deathrattle ranks of Lost Thorns, under the command of their King of Thorns. Beauvoir could see that the skaven were leaving as well, apparently mesmerised as if they were being drawn out of Barfunweltz by some arcane melody. She cared not why, so long as they would leave the dead to their peace.

But why was Lord Elohiim leaving? What quest was the mad old vampire embarking upon? Where would his path lead him? To glory?

On this question, her scrying pool was inscrutable...
