#32 The Wrath of Moh'sheh

The rage of the daemon prince was more than any mortal could endure. Even Mosh'eh's closest lieutenants - and rivals - among the Khornish Despoilers kept their distance. Some had thought - or perhaps hoped - that he would be weakened by his humiliating defeat at the hand of Lord Voltaire the vampire. They were very wrong. He was so furious that the Blood God took note and was pleased: to be this angered even by the frivolous vanquishment of a pit fight revealed a heart so enraged as to be worthy of Khorne's blessing. And so, rather than diminishing his stature, Moh’sheh Deacon of the Everchosen was made more powerful and belligerent than ever.

In his red haze, he had already slain innumerable slaves and minions, but as moments of relative lucidity occasionally drifted through his turbulent mind, his thoughts turned to the true focus of his fury: the vampiric knight. He recalled that the coward had brought with him a bestigor as an offering for his fight pits, and so he summoned it. This beast not only knew where Voltaire had come from, but of a Realm Gate that could take them there.

And so, one amethyst night, the Slaves to Darkness came in force to Barfun Moor. The elite army of Chaos champions, knights and warriors soon subdued most of the the resident beastmen. The Despoilers even incited some of the anarchic Children of Chaos to devote themselves solely to Khorne.

Wherever Moh'sheh roams in search of slaughter he always builds his 'Pit Forts'. These simple constructions can be assembled rapidly by unskilled slave labour and function not only as military barracks and defensive structures but, above all, as fight pits. He also brings with him his favourite pit fighters, whom he uses both to entertain and train his forces.

These brutal gladiators are sent out from the pit forts to recruit new combatants (or victims) from the local population for the entertainment of Prince Moh'sheh and his bloodthirsty warriors. Here on Barfun Moor, one particular doombull quickly gained the crowds' favour. The Despoilers named him Brad the Impala and delighted almost as much as him in the carnage he delivered. As his status rose in the fight pits, so did his following among the beastmen, and the unruly Beasts of Barfun Moor united under his rule, at least for the time being.
